How to fix the leaking front cooler

I remember someone posting awhile back how they fixed the front cooler from leaking but I think it was in a RZ2. Has anyone either had the dealer fix or fixed the leaking cooler themselves in a RZR/R20?

I don't understand really how it is leaking but somehow I am getting water trickling from the front walk through, all the way down to the driver's feet. Is this just water leaking out of the top?

I thought someone said they fixed the clamp on the drain below it but since that should just drain into the bilge, I don't see how my carpet could be getting wet. I'm also not sure how to even reach it unless you can get to it from under the observer's helm.

My drain got clogged so I went looking for it: you can't reach it. I also don't see how in any way, shape, or form the thing could leak unless its overflowing from the top... It's a one piece fiber glass tub that drains into the bilge and is screwed onto the hull by under the bow cushions.

I just got the crazy idea, while talking about this, of cutting out the bow cooler and installing a fly high open bow sack.... Hmmm...

I bet the drain is leaking, my drain was not sealed with any caulk or silicone so I had to crawl up through my v drive locker to reach my drain from the inside and get it sealed and tightened. I have not crawled around belowdecks of the newer boats with bow coolers but it sounds like a PITA.

The drain fitting is not sealed or even tight to the cooler, so water leaks between the drain fitting and the cooler and runs out to the carpet.

I took some silicone and ran a bead around the black drain fitting so no water could get between the fitting and the cooler. This winter I plan on figuring out how to get underneath the cooler to loosen the fitting and apply silicone on the inside like it should be from the factory.

I agree that the water must be leaking from the lid, if the carpet right in front of the cooler is getting wet. I also think it is leaking underneath the cooler drain, since the carpet in the observer's helm is getting wet too, even when we don't take on water over the bow.

Removing the cooler tub to do a large bow sac would be a great idea! We just can't live without a cooler there. Hmm, maybe I just need to get a small Yeti and put it in the observer's helm. It just sucks to get to it there. I played around my weight bags this weekend and the boat really needs weight in the center. Everything is on the sides which really makes it difficult to balance out the wake. I have to make my 5yr old son change his seating position all the time which is silly!

I'm thinking in the off season, I am going to build a false step in the walk through to try and hide 300-400lbs.

I've looked at mine as well, and don't see any other way that my carpet is getting wet unless it's coming out of the top. I keep meaning to pay attention when we are underway to see if water is leaking while getting up on plane. It's the only place it could be coming from, because it is all one piece.

I've noticed that there is a snap sewed into the strap that's attached to the lid, but no place to snap it to the front of the cooler. Don't know if it would help anyways, doesn't seem like there is much of a seal between the cooler and the lid.

This is easy to test in your garage, put the cooler's drain plug in, add some water, wait 20 minutes and see if the carpet gets wet.

I put some silicone around my RZR's drain fitting months ago, and I have not had wet carpet since.

How did you all get under the bow cooler? Mine still leaks but I have no idea how to access the drain line.
