I have read some of the post about the new finishing touches, the upgrades to the Touch with Bluetooth and the updated Z1. I am really hoping for some pics of the Z1, especially side by side with an RZ2 and Z3. Just excited to see if there is anything else and to see some pics.

The one thing that seemed cool was you can set all of your settings prior to getting to the boat then use bluetooth to upload the settings without have to put them in on TigeTouch.

The BT will be nice for streaming tunes and also using the Perfect-Pull app.

Then stay in your 2008 boat and don't worry about it!! It's technology...that's the world we live in TODAY!! Go ahead and stay back in the 70's and leave the rest of us alone. If you have grandkids or will in the future don't be mad if they don't want to hang out with you cuz they have to get up and turn the old TV channel by hand. Don't be mad when they don't communicate with you cuz your old phone still has a cord on it.
Bluetooth is the best thing for us that drive a newer model year vehicle. That way we can talk hands free while we are on our Iphones. Now go sit in your 5000 watt boat and listen to some more Marvin Gay!!

Bluetooth gets rid of the cable between your stereo and music device, so heck yeah it's needed! Next thing I would like to see in Car/Marine audio is bluetooth connections between the amp and head unit so you don't have to run RCA's everywhere.

But bluetooth doesn't let you control your music library like plugging it in does, does it? The idea of uploading via bluetooth for rider settings is cool but if everyone has their own app on their phone, don't you have to pair each phone? Not sure it's much faster.

Since one is not tethered by a cable, you can easily grab your MP3 source unit and do what you need to do. Funny thing is, about half of my head-unit customers end up going back to a simple 3.5mm AUX after using a dedicated Ipod cable or USB. They find it sooo much faster and easier to navigate their device as opposed to using the head-unit to navigate the song list when connected to one of the hi-speed cables.

I believe it! The bluetooth/steering wheel controls are fine as long as you want to stay in the same play list and just skip songs individually. Easier to grab the player and hit the next song.

NO TIMMY! The next step really should be networked devices or at least cat5 or cat6 connections. I really don't get why this hasn't been done yet. The bandwidth of a shielded cat5 or cat6 cable should far exceed traditional interconnects and it would also be a balanced connection.

I sell Meridian and they have been doing this forever. All of their speakers are active DSP speakers where the signal is kept digital via a cat5 cable all the way to the speaker which has the DSP processor, D/A converter and amplifier all built in.

How cool would it be to have powered tower speakers that run off of a single cat5 from a POE switch?
