COULD AN OLDER BATTERY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH POWER LOSS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE?THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP.

A shorted battery could pull down the voltage to the ECM, possibly putting the system into limp-mode.
