Or even just have a form fitted mat that would go in the compartments the a weather-tech floor mat use in automobiles.

Good thought, but I could see water getting trapped underneath, between the mats and the floor/hull.

I would like to see all the carpet go away, but the price will go up because like Bspot says, it is cheaper to cover flaws then to finish them
Couldn't something like sea deck stick to an unfinished surface? Maybe not. That's why I was also thinking something breathable and drainable, like Poseidon, but probably a little thinner. I seem to remember seeing something like that in the bow lockers of a Mastercraft at a boat show a couple of years ago.

I like the "rubberized spray" idea (assuming it exists). I think you'd want something softer than rhino liner to avoid scratching/dinging boards, skis, etc.

That would be cool. No bueno if there's still carpet under them.

Now that I think about it, it should be pretty easy at the factory to mask off and spray the storage compartment floors with a Line X type of material, prior to carpet. The problem is that you'd have to have some sort of mat to put down on top of it to keep stuff from sliding around.

yea the seadek in the G23 and G25 is amazing! It would be awesome if the Tige's had that option.

and you would probably get some noise reduction to boot.

That is what I was thinking, it wouldn't even have to be that thick since we are not dropping a load of rocks or mulch in our boats. Cost savings right there and it will cover flaws.

Correct, in 2010 Malibu dropped the carpet in the rear compartments and under the hatches themselves. In 2011 Malibu put the same material in all the storage compartments; it has a textured surface and heavy items will slide. The 2012 MXZ has the full fiberglass interior and there is carpet back in the storage compartments, except the rear locker floor.

Yes, not sure if it's standard or optional.

I like that, particularly if there are drain holes to the bilge.

The only thing that really matters is when Wetsounds brings their new SD amps to market. Cuz it's what you hear, not what you see that matters.

Wrong thread Nobody? This is about wet carpet in confied places helping mold grow, and other options for under deck surfaces.
