How many of you try to get more hp out of your motors?

I was reading this post and saw where this guy puts roller rockers in his Tige. I was just wondering if any one else tries to get mo power out of their motors?

Not many. Not many at all. Wicked put the roller rocker set up in. He's a pretty handy fella though. I thought somebody put stroker motor in their's. Can't remember who now.

Mine is bone stock except for good quality plugs & wires, filters & fluids. It's kept clean and dry and warm when its not on the water. Starts every time and does everything I need. Not sure I want to mess with it. If for some reason it gave up the ghost, I might put something a bit hotter in it.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I believe BigDaddy_Houseboat had motor issues that were not resolved so he ended up putting the stroker in his. I could be wrong.

My 20i runs 47-48 mph... and has seen 51 with the bimini down and a light load.

I haven't done anything to our current boat's motor...wife won't let me. I cracked a 265hp v8 due to a freeze and dropped in a 300hp motor as the replacement. It was bored, stroked and had different heads. Of course it was a ton better, aside from that, never did much tinkering with the engine.

My PCM EX343 is bone stock and will stay that way. I even buy PCM's own labeled oil and fuel filters. LOF and tranny fluid every 50 hours. All fuel filters every Fall. I keep a written log of everything that happens to the boat and drivetrain with hours down to the tenth.

Like NickyPoo said, it's totally reliable - and I'm caring for it like I want it to stay that way forever, because I do.

Ha, I literally wipe mine down from top to bottom with baby wipes a couple times a year. I think that at this point in this boats life, it is literally the cleanest part of the boat. Twelve summers of beer, buddies & kids will take its toll and has. The motor however, looks showroom.

Nailed it. Thanks skip. Gold star.

I'm definitely a fan of the stroker motor. Torque motor. Good marine application.

Mine is bone stock. However it has the 360hp engine in it. Runs out great.. I just do all the maintenance as needed.

I've modded almost every vehicle i've ever owned, but have left both boats bone stock.. something about the reliability of a stock motor and not having to worry about getting a tow back to the dock..
being somewhat new to boating in the last 5 years, I found that a prop upgrade on my last boat did more than any engine upgrade ever could have..

I've got plenty of hp in my stock motor to do everything I want to do. Only thing I do is polish it down once a week, that's about 8-10 hours.

                      Waiting for another good one!

                        FiveFlat, that's exactly how an engine should look. It's beautiful! {sniff} {wipes tear from eye}

I'm pretty sure that the 340hp+ engines are all using roller rockers. Pull your valve cover and take a look.

I will never modify my motor. Marine motors are pretty maxed out when they come from the factory. The difference between the MP 340 and the next higher hp. Probably about everything, pistons, cams, crank, etc. It's not really worth it.
