As a fishermen, I always enjoy checking the stomach of my catch as I clean them - this makes me think twice about doing that. Getting kids fingers caught in the rope is always a fear of mine, so I always watch for it. Sounds like the boat driver was not watching.Comment

That is exactly what happened to me a couple months ago. When I fell the rope caught up on my leg and then sling-shotted thru my face - broke my nose, cheek bone, and a piece of my jaw. Good cut above my eye too.
Point being, I can't believe a quick release system is not sold with the tower, or like you said, I can't believe they don't sell like crazy. I'm going to find one.....Comment
