Sorry, I just thought I would try and beat Nobody to that comment.

I guess you could contact Tige about it but unless it were a safety hazard and considered a recall, I'm not sure they will do anything about it.

Is this a change we will see on all of the Tige hulls? Or was this just something that really helped the Z3 out?

rag' you don't happen to have a side by side wave comparison of both hulls? You say they don't look all that dif' but I'd like to see 4 myself

This is disheartening I'm sure for some who have the fkd'up chined hull.

Post some pics of your surf wave and wakeboarding wake, I'm curious...

Disheartening??? Knowing that I was sold an inferior design when I was told I was buying the best boat out is a little more than disheartening!!! If I had bought an $85K car that had a frame that altered its performance, they'd be buying that bitch back, especially if the "fix" was to modify the frame (ie. cutting and filling).

I've got a couple of videos in the video section, but that was after I had to add 1250# of extra weight in the boat. Everyone kept saying that I had to be doing something wrong because they could do better with the factory ballast.

yeah maybe I should have said something like their asses would be 'chapped' OR fkn' pissed off OR ready to kill. I'm glad all this is coming to light as i'll be in the market for one this winter.

Can anyone tell me how many '12's are like this? Was it just a few early ones? I don't think I can afford a '13..for sure a '12.

that wave looks clean Timmy. I def' want to see a side by side though..rag how bout it? If i'm droppin major coin I want the best. I've told several people around me of my Z3 intentions and they all think I'm nuts...AND they all think I should buy this condo in San Jose Del Cabo I've been yappin about for a couple of years (Los Olas> amazing surf right out front..world class actually)

I think they just filled them in, probably wouldn't know if it came out of the mold that way or not by looking at it. Still better than a surfgate wave

I have a good feeling that the cheapest '12 you find will be an early hull, but I don't think Tige made too many before Ragboy went down and helped "dial" in the hull from the surfing perspective, I would guess that there can't be more than 10-20 out there.

proably should have labeled the change with an "*" or called it the Z3_version 2.0 so peeps knew.

                          My message to Tige:

Hi Tony, this is Johnny Clevenger. I recently bought a Z3 from Eagle Marine in Ft. Worth & have had an absolute blast over the past couple of months with it. There have been some minor issues that have come up, & so far the guys at Eagle have been pretty good at taking care of them, so no complaint there. The biggest issue I have is that I'm having to add WAY more weight to this boat to get a decent surf wake out of it compared to multiple other Z3 owners I've talked to. Well, today I find out that I was sold an early production run of this boat that has a significantly different hull design than the other Z3's that I've been comparing to. Since this is the single largest investment I've ever made in my life, and the only reason we bought it was to have the best surf boat available, this news is a bit irritating. I love ALMOST everything about this boat, & get unbelievable compliments on it everywhere I go, but, I feel as though I've been sold an "inferior" model without even being told there were different models. I'm definitely not the type of person that's asks for something for nothing, & I honestly don't feel like I'm being out of line here, but I'd like to ask if Tige is doing anything for those of us who unknowingly purchased a Z3 with the early production hull?

                          Thank you for your time,
                          Johnny Clevenger

Seems like a very reasonable message. Good luck. Please let us know how things work out.

That's a nice looking wave up there. I wouldn't be too irritated by that.
                                Waiting for another good one!
