    Shaving the Chine off RZ2

I was talking to my Neighbour yesterday regarding his 2010 RZ2. He told me that Tige had recently paid to shave the chine on the port side of his boat down and the reglass it under warranty. He was complaining that over 25mph the boat would list over, so he had to ballast te front corner to counterweight it although it was not 100%. He explained that it wasn't an issue at boarding speed but at cruise home speed it wasn't right. Since the warranty job he says its better. Anyone else have this issue on their boats?

Did his boat lean to the right at higher speeds?

My 2009 RZ2 always does this at higher speeds. I assumed it was prop rotation. I compensate with ballast.

Interesting if it is some hull issue?

Since I always drive I just consider it as motivation to do more cardio in the gym. I've compensated with with some Pop Bags.

            That is what I'm wondering.

If you can throw up some pictures am sure all RZ2 owners would love to see the modification.

Tige is now offering a Z3 hull mod for older models?

Is Duffy getting a piece of the action?

Exactly, it leaned to the right even with passengers etc along the port side. If he is in today Ill take some pictures. He explained it was only a slither off the outside chine, but this was enough of a change to correct the problem. He says it also evened the wake up. I always found the wake on the RZ2 to be different from TS to HS (wakeboarding), not enought to worry about, but from right to left was steeper. Stay tuned for some pix.

I have the same issue with the difference in shape of the port and starboard wakes. The starboard wake is nice and smooth with a good shape and the port wake is very rampy and peaky. I've been able to fix it a little with moving some weight around in strategic spots but they are still not identical.

What Nobody? By calling BS are you saying that you think I'm in top physical form? Thank you!

Okay, I went to check this out further and take some pix for you all. The amount of glass removed is so minimal it is actually hard to see, so photos would be useless. The owner said to me that before the modification the boat was very susseptable to weighting and now it is very forgiving. He lead me to believe that they did this under warranty as someone else (a really perdantic owner) would not settle that the boat reacted that way under speed, so someone, I dont know who came up with the idea of shaving some of the chine off. At a guess I recon they have only taken about 1/8"off, but apparently it has made all the difference. Good to see some great backup by the local dealer and Tige here to solve these issues. There should be more of it.

My 2011 leans as well and it drives my crazy. My 22ve never seemed to have this problem.

My 2009 does not lean that I have noticed, and I spend a lot of time on boats. How much lean are you guys talking about?

Our previous boat (Seadoo Challenger 2000 with Mercury V6) leaned starboard until it got on plane. A quick informal survey revealed some did, and others didn't.

Our current Tige 24Ve does not lean - until we want it to, of course.

I wonder if there's some natural production variation that causes this.
