Help: Throttle shut down and beep noise

Went out on the lake Saturday and as we were pulling away from the dock and went full throttle heard a beep noise and the boat powered way down on the throttle automatically. I have a 2008 RZ4. As we tried to continue on the lake any time we started going (say 15 MPH pulling a kneeboard) it would again beep and power way down. We ended up getting off the lake until we figure this out.

    Any theories on this?

Do you have the factory EIDB system (dual batteries)?

Bet it is temperature too high and needs a new water intake impeller

          Impeller is a good guess.

Only alarm i have ever heard on mine was a low oil and it happened just right after an oil change so i added more... But the boat never powered down so i doubt that is it but might be worth checking also.

I had similar issue with my '07 24Ve starting in 2009 through 2010, It happened maybe once or twice an outing. Around 2000RPM,usually after accelerating away from dock or something, the alarm would sound, the RPMs would power down. I'd put it in neutral, the alarm would stop/reset, and then everything worked fine. IT happened sporatically. I also noticed every time the alarm went off and I put in neutral, it reset the hour meter would go back to the previous starting time. It wasn't overheating or oil pressure. I have the EIPB dual battery switch

I 'fixed' it, or it stopped happening for 1 of the 4 following reasons:

              1. I took to shop, they put the computer to scan for codes; found nothing, it never happened again.
              2. At that same shop session, they noticed some wire to the battery was unhooked/undone. Hooked up/re-spliced it back and it never happened again.
              3. After a few years, my house battery was low and possibly the low voltage sent a code to the computer which started the alarm, when I put in neutral it stopped. This year I got a new house battery...but the problem stopped last year.
              4. Each of those 'solutions' may be bogus, but I stopped having the problem.

In order; check your house battery, then check the connections to the house battery.... last idea is scan/check for codes--maybe that reset whatever bug was causing my problem.

              Good luck

Yep...completely forgot about that house battery issue thingy. Same thing here. Our 08 RZ4 batteries (many of them) were all on their last leg and I had erratic alarms too. Solution: Go to bank, get big loan, replace batteries.

                  Thanks

Thanks for all the advice. Will start with the battery issue and report back!
