Alpha Z tower noisey

Havent had my boat very long its a 09 Z1 and the tower seems to be pretty noisey. I have the round deal on, on both sides where white dot is facing down. Is that how they all are or am I missing something. LMK thanks

I own a 2010 Tige Z1 with the Alpha tower. The tower was noisey at times (rough water). Two fixes that I tried. First, apply some electrical tape along the two edges where the tower folds back (basically add a gasket); second, have your dealer upgrade the locking mechanism so that it is the same as the 2011 model. I had the OEM locking mechanism changed last winter (the dealer did not charge for this fix). The new locking mechanism fixed 90% of the noise. I also applied some electrical tape this spring. Since then, the tower does not make any noise. The screw type locks hold the hinge very tight and the tape prevents the metal to metal contact.

Ill try electrical tape tom. I dont have a tige dealer anywhere near me where else can I get this or order that part from the 11 models? Thx

Instead of electrical tape you may want to try some foam tape. Home Depot has some really nice foam duct tape in the AC department. I've used it in all sorts of applications and love it. The adhesive is great and the foam is fairly dense. I'll see if I have any at home in a bit and take a pic of it.
