I think this looks really sweet, Adam. I think what you mean is that the alluminum tab will not push against the swim bracket when you have the final product
Will it be automated, or manual? Seems like a manual hinge that locks in place would be pretty neat and save the expense of installation and ram failures, etc.
That's funny. I am posting from my phone so Its east to make mistakes. I will be using regular hinges sorry about the confusion. And yes my final product will not apply and pressure to the swim platform. Im unsure if the gate will will be manual or automated but more than likely manual.

So do you have them on both sides? Do you have the one side deployed (out) no surf side? I understand its still in the "design" phase. Do you plan on being able to switch it on the fly? how?

Here is a couple pictures with the smaller gate installed. With the larger gate I don't use the center hole in the swim bracket but instead I use the rear hole in the swim bracket.

Just one side for testing and getting sizes then I will make the other side identical.
Yes the starboard side is the side it is installed on and we surf regular (port side).
Not sure if I will make them manual or use hydraulic rams, must likely manual

Looking good there. Next time I see my 24V will need to take a look. Maybe Duffy will do the testing in his spare time
              Let it be!!!

Could a surf gate be installed on a 21i. Looks like it could be

Surfgate on a 21i? Sure. You just need to be the first one to try it to find out what works.

I started mocking up some panels last night just for chits-n-giggles. I want to take some measurements while the boat is underway before I figure out exactly what I want to try. I have another issue I want to address at the same time.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Didn't take any pictures but I can tell you that both sizes of gates works and any angle of the gate works also. Obviously there are differences between them but they both do the job. Im staying with the longer gate, the pocket is longer.

I think the design will work on any boat/hull design

                            This idea looks promising.

Will love to see more work and details.

Would love to see someone like duff who maxes out a wake try it and let him find the best and maxed out combination.

FYI .Moved the gate to the port side and the wake is the same on both sides.
