It has plenty of push for me to free ride on both sides and from my point of view it is a pretty long wave but full disclosure is that the only other boat I have surfed was Supra SunSport direct drive so I dont have a good feel for how it compares to some of the newer surf specific boats.

Cool. Thanks for posting that. If you get a chance, post some pics when you get it dialed in. Very intersting...

Got to working on round 2. Heres one pic. Sill have to work on the mount some more. Will be interesting to see what the small part does filling in the spray pocket. Hoping to test it this weekend if I can get mount finished up.

          Ruger,

That looks great, can you explain what you made it out of and how you mounted it to the boat. I would love to try to do this with my RZR for the goofy side. i can never get that side to ever be the same wave. look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Its made out of some 1/2" plastic sheet. I used recessed T-Nuts on the back side of plastic to bolt to so it wouldnt hut the hull, and the bolts have spaces on them. Mounting it where it doesnt hurt the boat is the hardest. I stared by cutting a groove in the plate and welding a cut off bolt in the goove where it goes through my existing swim deck R-Pin hole.

            photo 4.jpg

From there welded a plate over the bolt and a strap that follows the swim deck support.

Then added the angle bar that holds it against the hull of the boat. I will put a clamp around the stap to hold it to the swim deck support. Kicks out about 2-3/4". The black knob holds it in or out.

Should be very interesting to see what it does.

One thing you may want to consider, the surf gate and NSS will not work right if the boat is listed or sunk to the point where the device is underwater. This is why the latest surf gates are much bigger, and don't have the issue like the first ones did. The NSS still suffers from this, and when the boat was weighted down more, the NSS wouldn't work, and they had to list the boat.

Very true. The last NSS plat I toyed with I still listed the boat. But it still improved the wake and shape it some. I dont think there will ever be a perfect plate out there compared to a heavy listed wake. Especially some of the picutes of the wave your boat throws Ragboy. One of these years maybe I'll get the chance to upgrade, but for now I can toy with it on the older hulls see what happens.

Well didn't get any pics yesterday due to it raining on us off and on the full day. But the plate worked very well. I still had the boat listed to about the rub rail which puts the plate about water level. Made a huge difference with vs without the plate. I'll be using it for now on.

Even though it was raining water was almost glass. Made for a fun day. Now to dry the boat out.

Thanks and glad you enjoyed the time out even with the rain!

Finally got back out this weekend, (been a wierd summer), course forgot to get any pics again. Im going to have to make myself a note on the dash to take some pics.
I did however switch over to the none plated side to pull some friends. The wave on that side wasnt as large or long compared to the side with the plate. I still list the boat over even with my plate. Havent really tried it with a fully level boat. Be something I need to try and take pics of for you.

Still loving my wave. Finally figuring out how to play around on the board more now that I have a lot more push and more pocket length. Tried my first 180 that turned into more of a 90 with a face plant didnt get the board to break loose enough.

So I havent forgot and promise sometime to get some pics
