On my 2012 z3 the rear swim platform brackets are rattling very bad at idle. It makes the whole hull sound like its going to fall apart. Has anybody else experianced this and know of a fix? My 2011 rzr did the same with the old style brackets but there were bolts on the bottom you could tighten up ( but apparently they were tightened to much because the guy who bought my boat had the brackets break off when he hopped down onto it!) I have beed living with alot of little issues on this boat but this one is driving me crazy!!!!!

Brad, not 100% sure but check in the glove box, there should be two bolts with Allan heads on them. Check and see if these fit into the holes on the brackets. I never checked but all the boats I had this year they all had two extra bolts. My Z3 platform didn't rattle at all, had a few other minor issues but nothing that kept us off the water.

To the OP there should have been 2 allen bolts installed between the slides on the platform bracket. When they are installed the platform is rock solid. Sounds like your dealer forgot to put them in. Once you find and install them you should be golden.Last edited by kko; 08-26-2012, 08:27 PM.

I am the owner of Hyperactive Watersports where Bspot purchased his RZR and his Z3. As Ragboy said, there are two allenhead bolts that go in the swimstep brackets from the side, unlike your RZR where they went into the bottom on the style bracket. As part of the pre-delivery tasks, we always install those bolts, so I am guessing that on your boat we either missed them (which I am thinking not as I water-tested the boat and would have noticed that annoying noise right away) or possibly the bolts loosened off over the summer and have fallen out. Maybe we should be putting lock-tite on those bolts, but I have not seen others do this.
Of note on BSpots boat, after about 6 or so different generations of color and option choices to make his new Z3 the perfect package, our order went to Tige a little late into the spring, so when the boat arrived, BSpot really wanted to get it home and on the water asap. So instead of water-testing the boat together prior to hooking it to his truck and sending him on his way as we do with every new Tige and the owner, I lake tested the boat and then met him at a location outside the city the next day, saving him some drive time. I will do everything I can to never let this happen again at my dealership as it is vitally important that the buyer and the dealer together drive the boat to ensure that everything works as it should at delivery. In addition, catching a missed item or finding an issue that needs to be addressed at a later time is vital to the beginning of a positive ownership experience overall.
I have been doing this for quite a while now, but there is still more to learn!

After making the last post I went back to my delivery photos on Bspots boat to see if I had a photo of the swim platform at delivery time. These are about 30% of the photos I have of that particular boat but I just did not have one of the platform brackets after install. Should have taken a few more photos I guessAttached Files- bspot Z3 01.jpg (113.5 KB, 108 views)
