I try and stay off Lewisville cause its to busy and i dont know the lake. Grandbury well i have stayed at the Bestwestern in Granbury, and it was nice, but the ramp was 5 miles away just across the bridge off 377. Tin Top is a good place, but i havnt been there in 3-5 years and it was always a day trip for us. To get to Tin Top its in Weatherford off I20, go south on Tin Top Rd for about 10 miles (it feels like for ever). There is a gas station on the left,,and in about 1/4 mile there will be a boat ramp sign turn right, and follow that to the ramp 1-2 miles (road dead ends to the river). They where doing some road constuction on Tin Top Rd last time i was there, so im not sure if anything has changed. Not that hard to get there just look for that gas station, and get ready to make a right hand turn.

For Granbury take business 377 towards downtown and there is a nice public ramp after you cross the bridge. HOWEVER, I would check with the Brazos River Authority before making the trip to check on the water level. I backed my trailer off the end of the ramp two weeks ago!! They have been selling tons of water out of Granbury and it is getting very low.

On the East side there are a few ramps and look into Sam's Dock or Golden Cove for rental units

Of course you are Not Allowed to jump off of the Cliffs at Hell's Gate, but I have seen a few doing it again this year.
We have to stop at the smaller cliffs at the next cove over and let the kids jump from 20' almost everytime I go to the Gate, which is almost every weekend.
I came to TX from NW Arkansas, and I agree the lakes in TX are not as nice as Beaver and Table Rock, but you have got to live with what you got and always Look at the Brightside of Life. So from what I have seen around North TX, PK is my spot...
With a Rain Out weekend on the forecast looks like some serious Surfing Action is on my plate. The lake will be glass with no other boats out there.....Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go thru life.

Check out Lake Texoma - deep lake, great marinas and sandy beaches.
Also, the Stripper fishing is the best in Texas. Hire a fishing guide for $125 per fishing pole - equipment and bait provided. You are guaranteed to catch your limit.
Last year, while fishing with my son, I caught an 18 lb striper and had it mounted - great day - great memory - great fish.
