Surfin it up on the New RZ2 - Lake Lanier

Great weekend out with jbort on Lake Lanier - thanks again for hosting us. We turned 20 hours on the boat finally and hope to get another 20-30 hours on her before summer is all over. Nonetheless I thought I would share some surfing action from the weekend.

what was the speed that you were running at?
How's the '12 vs. the '08 that you had?

I was present on this session as well and I was surprised at how little weight he had in the boat and the wave it produced. It was different than I am used to but was real nice. His new RZ2 is really sharp, Tige has done a great job with the details on the 2012 too.

            Set-Up:

Custom Surf Sac - thanks to Chpthrill (I think it is around 1100 lbs), plus the hard tank of 250, half full ballast up front, taps at 3, and depending on rider 10.8-11.4 speed. I was riding at 11.4 on the video.

The wake is a little cleaner on the 2012 partially due to the platform and my dealer said there was some hull mods that were also different in the 08 vs. 12.

we use go pro HD 2 and great camera. definitely worth extra $100. Works nicely and great quality. 2 downsides; no viewfinder unless u get add-on LCD and no zoom so cam needs to be close to the subject for detail. wi-fi is overhyped since the buttheads have not shipped the s/w for remote control but what ya gonna do. We use 6 foot extender pole.
