Big Thank You Going to Exile!

Just wanted to thank Brian and everyone at Exile for helping me put together the stereo we now have. It's the hybrid setup and it is working nicely. Started out with only the tower speakers and no bass but found out quickly a bass is REQUIRED for any good sound. Only thing we havn't upgraded are the boat speakers but that probably won't be happening unless we blow a few.

It's amazing what a bass will do to enrich the sound of the overall system. Also wasn't thinking we really needed the ZLD (controler found in picture 2 mounted under helm, right side) but WOW does it ever add to the power of the system. Initially was running the sound through the deck but when run directly from the ZLD, it is amazing how much cleaner and powerful the sound is.

Installed a Promariner Battery Charger (right side of second picture, yellow/black/gray) after finding out how much stereos suck your batteries down if you are really using the system. So now we plug our boat in at night, top off the batts and are good to go the next day with full power. Now we joke about plugging in our boat calling it the electric boat (fitting for all the Dems in Oregon, that we are not)

Install was done by me so if something looks odd, (don't think so) I take full responsibility. Help also came from Majestic's post a while back too.

Have done seveal "sound checks" out on the water and all reviews indicate nice clear sound for the surfer and the wakeboarder. Having a guy in your "backyard" to help you with the details and having patience to boot is fantastic. Thank you Exile.

(This is not about one stereo vs another, just a public thank you to Exile and that is it.)

Looks Great Embo I never heard back from you after I sent you my sub build info so I assume all went well with that?

The only thing I see different is Brian Specifically said to put the XM-7's in between the 65's. I never questioned it so I just always put them there. I am going to replace my current in-boats and add a pair because that is the weakest part of my system right now but I am waiting for my boat to come back from gelcoat repair.

          Nice job!
Ditto what u said about Exile and Brian.
I recently installed an Exile system and it sounds killer!
I ended up with the xm9's, 12" sub, ZLD, and 2 800 watt amps.
Brian and the crew at Exile were a big help in correctly installing and dialing in the sound.

Majestic, have will be trying the xm7s in different positions but originally Brian suggested I try them in the middle. The tower speakers are not in a line when seen from the side. The tower construction didn't allow for it but I think even when looking at the tower speakers from the side it looks good. The middle of each side is actually projected out about 4 inches back farther then the outer speakers and about 6 inches farther out than the inner speakers. Still tweaking here and there.

Thanks to all, even people who comment on other systems, it all has helped. I really like this forum for all the info and/or suggestions and ideas here.

Thanks fellow TOs and boaters alike.

Glad to see another happy exile customer!! I put two pair of the sm65s powered by a harpoon on my boat this past winter, and they are crazy loud! Plus the clarity of them is nuts!! I didn't buy their zone controller. I ended up buying a high end audiocontrol pre amp, and I went with a JL Audio 12w6 for my sub.

My install is somewhere in the stero forum. Nothing like maj's thread though.

              Love the pictures!!
