Have the new speakers up, but the right speaker is distorted!

I have the S9HD speakers and the harpoon amp. Everything seems to be wired up fine but the right speaker is very distorted. I've switch the speakers out to see if it was the speaker, but it works fine on the left. I tried using new speaker wire, it wasn't the best stuff, but it did the same thing to the left side. If I switch the speaker wires around on the amp, it does it then to the left side, and then the right side is fine. I did 20 clicks on the crossovers like they suggested and have it 3/4 of the way turned up. Its connected to the Kicker KX700.5/if that matters. Help needed, leave on vacation tomorrow!!!

    Thanks!

Brand new amp? Any corrosion on the terminals or anything loose on the amp?

If you've swapped the left and right speaker, and the problem stayed with the original suspect speaker, then its internal of the speaker pod. If the problem stayed on the suspect chnl, then is between the amp and the clamp.

Out side of a blown speaker, I would check for reversed polarity inside the pod. This would have the speaker playing out of phase.

I would also check for correct polarity at the amp. Next, swap the speaker leads at the amp and see if the problem again moves or stays. next, swap RCAs.

Since the problem changed speakers with the swapping of the speaker wire it sounds like you have some bad speaker wire.

well, talked to exile, and it sounds like it a bad amp, I swapped the rca around and it stayed on the same side, then when I switched the speaker wire around to the amp, it went to the other speaker, so it sounds like it a bad left channel or something they said. They are going to take care of me but for the weekend can I get about the same sound if I just piggy back the two speakers to the good side? If that makes sense
