    2 more hooked on surfing!!

Now have two more jr TOs hooked on surfing. Took my 8 and 11 year old out this weekend and both really took to the surf board. I spent about 15 minutes with each of them in our pool before going so that they could get the feel of setting the board and both got up first time. They were both riding wireless by the time we left the lake.

I didn't get to surf and it was easily my best day on the water.

That is so cool. I had my seven year old trying it on our last Lake Powell trip, but she could only make to her knees. I think our board is way too big for her...

She made it up with a little help from her older brother

Looks like they are having fun!! Take a look at the Phase V Scamp board. I really like it for the kids. It is easy for them to set on the edge prior to take off plus it is very reasonable at about $250. Also, I have had other kids on my boat struggle with getting the hang of flipping the board on edge prior to taking off. That is why I worked with my girls in the pool and really felt like it helped. I put their jackets on them and pulled them with a rope by hand. In my opinion that was the best way for them to get the feel and without being nervous about trying behind the boat Any kid that wants to go with me I plan on starting that way from now on. Obviously, you can just do it along the shoreline as easy as a pool.

Those are some great tips. I am going to pick up a board for my younger kids. I stood on the swim deck and flipped the board for them, but the board was still too big. Keep up the strong work with your kids!
