Currently I have a 2011 Tahoe with the tow package. It is suppose to pull 8500#. It seems to struggle more than I'd like with my 05 22v. I'm looking at the Tundra CrewMax 4wd 5.7 that is rated at 9700#. Will I notice a difference in these vehicles?

Tundra vs Tahoe towing

I have towed a 08 RZ2 with a 03 Yukon and a 2011 Yukon XL with no issues in WI. I think the Yukon XL tows better due to the longer wheel base. The only time I was worried with my 03 Yukon was when I was towing a 25 ft long inclosed snowmobile trailer in a blizzard. It felt like the trailer was driving the truck!
Where are you located? Are you in the mountains?"You're rather attractive for a beautiful girl with a great body."

I started towing with a Frontier that had a whopping 6500lb capacity and now I have a Silverado with 10K and change. I highly doubt you will notice any difference.
I can count at least 7 vehicles that I have used to tow the exact same boat, and the only time there was ever a real noticeable difference was when I was in a Toyota Sequoia. The difference was that it had a tiny fuel tank and I had to stop and fill it up a lot.

Just out of curiosity when you say struggle what are your referring too? It's ability to brake, the boat is pushing the truck, the boat wanders, you can't get to 75 mph, it takes forever to get to 75 mph, etc...
As TigeTrojan mentioned depending on what it is struggling with you might not see any difference between different two vehicles.

I have a couple of factors in my short term ownership.
1. I tow with the bimini up. It is a bitch to take down. I try to keep it under 60mph.
2. I currently don't tow very far, about 7 miles from my storage to the furthest ramp I use but might be pulling it 200 miles in a few weeks.
3. a few large hills from almost a dead stop seem to bog down the truck. I've used the tow/haul mode and manual shifting from 1,2,3 etc
It was just a thought but at the moment I could trade in my Tahoe and get a new Tundra and recoup ~ $200/mo in my payment. Plus with the 4x4 I could utilize another ramp that my Tahoe can't pull the boat out of currently due to slippage.
