Driver radio remote help

Driver and back of boat radio remote not working. The drivers remote is receiving a signal as it shows what channel the radio is on but none of the buttons will do anything such as turn volume up or down. The boat is a 24V 2004 model. Any ideas as to what is causing the issue?

The remotes share a Y cable at the back of the head-unit. Remove the Y cable and plug in and test each remote independently. Its not uncommon for a faulty remote to effect the operation of the other then both are plugged up. Taking the bad one out of the circuit, usually allows the other to work correctly. As Skippa noted, check the connections. Pull them apart and inspect them for corrosion and then fully re-seat them.
