They had a yellow and black 22 Ve at the Ski Dock. It looked pretty sweet.

OK, I know I am probably going to take a beating for this, but what is the purpose of a $12,000 stereo? I will be the first to admit that I like a moderately loud, clean sounding system, both of which can be accomplished (using high quality components) for FAR FAR FAR less than $12,000...

Do people do this just to say, "I have a $12,000 stereo..." or so everybody else on the lake can hear your music? I am assuming that with this particular install much of the $$$ was spent on the custom fabrication, labor and installation...

First off, those speakers in the back seat corners are the DUMBEST thing I have ever seen. It takes away from the use of the walk-thru, they are located in a very bad location. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want speakers right there. How can that look stock besides maybe the vinyl?

23 speakers I only see four in those pictures. Two of which look useless to me.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

As a tax accountant I have seen people spend money on crazier things than a $12000 stereo, but it is up there on the list. There are people who think a $40 - $50,000 boat is crazy also.... Whatever makes you happy though.

I don't personally like the speakers in the back seat. They look like they would hold water pretty well and they take up lots of space.

People just dont get the point. This is a boat show boat it is supposed to be outragous. There is no real point behind it. It is to show what these guys are capable of. Who cares if it isnt functional? Its not our boat.

I met Mike at the show and he is definitely a classy guy who takes pride in his work. The installation was extremely professional and clean. I wish I had time to sit and listen to it a bit more.

I expected it to be louder...did we turn it up enough?

The back seat subs definitely don't fit for functionality. I imagine them to be pretty durable, but I think anything will give in when the Las Vegas sun heats them up to 200 degrees, then someone drips water all over them, then I poke the orange flag or wakeboard into them.

The remote was truly one of the cooler aspects of the system, but I'm sure I would be getting it all wet or dropping it to the bottom of the lake within my first two outings.

Nice pics, CP3. My pics have turned out terrible. I need a lesson in photography.
                          Be excellent to one another.

                            Negative on the jealousy...

Again, I am assuming the bulk of this price tag came in the way of customization, fabrication, and installation...

CP3 - thanks for the pics

tall tige guy - unfortunately i during the show times i had all of the tower off because it was aimed right at the booth behind us and they are good friends of mine so i didnt want to blast them out, however when i turned the whole system up and on after the show hours it sounded like a concert in the whole convention center.

just to give an idea to everyone who is thinking 12,000 is a high number for a stereo system - the wiring alone in the boat at wholesale was about $600 - add 5 pair of kickers higest end ss series component speakers. 2 of their new '06 competition 10" subs 1 12"L7, 2 1250.1 kicker sx amps. 2 900.4 kicker sx amps and a kicker sx amp controller and the price is actually quite reasonable.

and yes to all - i built this boat as a show boat - meaning that no the locations for the subs are not the greatest. but that was not the point ... i set out to build a boat that would turn heads in every direction, and it did. of course the install was not practical - it was not meant to be, the boat was built as a show boat and sold as a show boat

I didnt get a chance to hear them loud but I think it is better that under the dash so you can hear the Bass Better.
