Tim, as I replace the Hertz and go with individual amps, I am running out of room. This idea is great, but how did you attach to the hull? Gelcoat in some brackets??
this is a Hydrotunes install for a customer boat. I am not sure how they did it. I am pretty sure they built a rack that the amps attach to and attached it to the hull. I know it was a lot of work to get the seat to fold down. They have done other installs hiding the amps there for safe keeping however they are not easy to access, mainly for security.
Once the new sinister amps come out. They are a ton of power in a small foot print. 13x9. Since they have so much power, you would be able to run the system with less amps and be able to put them in the same location i would bet.

Thanks for the response Tim, I'll get with the guys at Hydrotunes on the how-to's. As for amp replacement, The last Hertz HP4 needing replacement is still driving our two 485's. Since this is the bulk of our rear audio, we're going to want to replace the HP4 with comparable. Will you have a sinister that does 500W X 2 @ 4 ohms??
Sinister SD2 2 ch does 400x2 at 4 ohms. Sinister SD4 4 ch does 185x4 at 4ohms and bridged does 685x2 at 4 ohms! Sinister 6 ch does 185x6 and 585x3. You could run the 485 pair and the PRO 60 pair all off one sinister 6 ch amp. For 585x2 and 185x2. All from one amp 13x9 size!

Tim,
We upgraded the Pro60's to Pro80's and did some fancy mod work to make it fit. The 80's are currently married to a Syn2 (Stereo @ 4 Ohms 200 x 2 watts RMS) both are projected at 22 degrees. So the SD6 seems the best way to go for space savings, with great output to the whole tower. (585 X 3 - assuming mono/bridged)
When are they due to arrive???
Will they Sinister have a remote variable output like the Hertz?
The boat we're talking about was formerly a Wetsounds company show boat, and I stole it from Tim with 80 hours on it back in 09. Tim took the bath, not me. But maintaining the audio system to the level Tim left it almost 4 years ago is getting expensive lately.......but it sure is darn fun having 6000 watts of noise. Can't wait for the Christmas boat parade to come this winter, and feel bad for the people in the boats behind us.

And I heard rumors of a new Z3 in progress...wondering who is going to buy the current boat. It might be my favorite wrap of all time.
