    2012 RZ2 surf wake

Hey Fellow Tige owners! Thinking about upgrading to an 2012 RZ2 and I was curious if this model has the tweaked swim platform that resolves the surf wake issues the older platforms had on the RZ2? I read about the platform causing a double lip in the wake and thought Tige changed the bottom of the platform but I have not been on the forum much in the last couple years.

Also how much "better" is the Z3 surf wake than a RZ2? I recently surfed the Z3 stock and it was awesome but have not see the RZ2 but I am sure its also really good.

As always your insight is greatly appreciated!

i really wanted an rz2 till the z3 came out and the z3 is the way to go imho if you look back in the posts i posted up a thread that was rz2 vs.z3 and its pretty great info in comparing the 2 boats i have surfed alot behind an rz2 its really deep in the pocket and tall as compared to the z3 which is not as deep but tall as well and alot longer wave i guess it depends alot on ur style of riding, i love the rz2 it looks killer but wife wants a z3 so im not complaning z3 it will be.
    surf till u die.

I have surfed behind both also. Both have awesome long waves. The Z3 has more push way back. For me the RZ2 looks win out and it's wakeboard wake is my favorite so far. I haven't wakeboarded behind a Z3 yet.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

The RZ2 is a great boat and puts out an awesome surf wave. We are looking to possibly sell our '07 RZ2 and go with a new Z3.
          RZ2 Pros:
          - solid surf wave
          - solid wakeboard wake
          - roomy cabin
          - superb handling and easy to maneuver
          - pickle fork bow provides extra room in a 22' boat
          RZ2 Cons
          - lots of list when making that great surf wave
          - smaller cabin and bow than the Z3

          Z3 Pros
          - amazing surf wave
          - solid wakeboard wake
          - little list compared to the RZ2
          - huge interior, the bow is even bigger than the RZ2
          - lots of freeboard, boat makes you feel extremely safe

          Z3 Cons
          - large boat, ~24' so it doesn't turn as tight as the RZ2
          - handling is not quite as nimble as the RZ2

Those are just my personal opinions and experiences. You should test drive them back-to-back if possible or within a reasonable time frame of each other so you can compare. I didn't wakeboard behind the Z3 but a friend who is an "outlaw" level wakeboarder did while I was driving and the wakeboard wake is huge with the pro ballast system, he couldn't believe the pop he was getting off of it.

With all of that, we love our RZ2 and if the Z3 hadn't come out, there would be no reason to get rid of it in my mind.

This is my 2012 RZ2 yesterday...lots of chop...but 10.8 mph, Taps 1, Pro Ballast (600 lbs in the rear surf side and 75% full on surf side front.)

My son, who is 13 going wireless on his second day!

The boat has Waaaaay less list and bow rise than the MC, Tiques and Supras out yesterday, and those waves were small on the other boats!
