I really dont see why it wouldn't last for 10+ years.... I mean they have been in boats for more then 15 years. Just not ski boats.
In my experience the tige touch is not easy to use. I have to tap on an icon multiple times to get what I want and the software is super buggy IMO. I love my iPhone but the tige touch is no where close to the iPhone.

If I could vote on what to spend Tiges money on i'd pick quality control as well. The quality of their boats the last few years has turned me off. I think every tige my local dealer(4 or 5 of them sold, not a big dealer) has sold this year has come back to the shop with problems.

I agree. the Touch is a little weird to work with. I have found that it works best way to work with the screen is to touch it with your full finger tip. Interestingly enough Mastercraft went away from the medallion touch system for 2013. They said they had to many issues with the Meddalion software and screen.

This is definitely good discussion. Didn't know MC jumped out of the touch screen.

MC used to make a boat that was way better and a little more expensive than the vast majority of their competitors. In the past 10 years, Tige (and others) have closed the gap. I think that's where a lot of the animosity comes from. They have to justify the price.

Same with Malibu. They do make great boats, they just cost a little more than some others.

Tige is getting there too. In 10 more years, we'll all be on here trying to justify paying top dollar for a premium brand like Tige

You can buy a x-30 for about the same money as a similarly equipped Z3. I think that has been one of tiges biggest down falls. Tige ups their styling and options (great), they now charge in the same ball park as some MC's (excluding the x-star). So you better be giving your customer a damn good reason to be buying a tige when you can spend another 10-15k for a MC (and 10k when looking at 100k boats isn't that big a deal to most of these people).

We demoed a 12 X25 and the 12 RZ2. The awesome thing about the MC touch screen is they still put a toggle switch for every single function in the boat. You could throw your touch screen in the water and still control everything. I wish this was the case with Tige.

My problem is everything today is out dated by the time you get it.
Twenty years ago I purchased the lattest state of art Snap on Scope, it had 2 accessire switches, I asked what are those for , they said when something new is developed it can be added.
Well when something new was developed it couldnt be added because the internal computor speed had changed and wasnt compatable.
Next is our shop mannuals, we have them from 1935 to 2005, when books disapear, cd rom disc, and next was dvd , now on line mannuals, I can go to the shelf and grab any book , any time, with or without electricity, where do you get info when the power or computor is down, and how many monitors do you need for your techs, and the books were a one time purchase which you get to keep.
Sorry for the old person rant!

That ole Doge of yours that never breaks isn't outdated. It still serves its original purpose.

Ha, I like the old person rants! You forgot to mention that when you bought those manuals, someone had to walk uphill in the snow just to deliver them
