    RZR speedometer not working

At a lake vacation with all the extended family excited about the new boat, and on day one the speedometer stops working. The Tige Touch digital speedometer shows 0.0 and the old-school speedometer dial registers nothing.

Had the boat on a new lift, so we are thinking the lift might have damaged the speedo wheel. We went under the boat and the speedo paddles appear intact and the wheel spins pretty freely. I am not sure how freely it is supposed to spin. It might be a little tight.

Any ideas? We are driving by touch and doing ok with the low-speed wakesurfing, but the higher speed wakeboarding, etc is tougher. Thanks for the help!!

Either the paddle wheel sending unit has gone bad or you have a loose wire under the helm or near the paddle wheel itself.

If you are still at the lake and don't want to fiddle with the paddle wheel, download a speed app on your smart phone. I use one to calibrate my speedos every time I head out.

New lifts or new boats on old lifts LOVE to eat up paddle wheels. There should be 4 paddles. I know you said it spun free, but it could be that the axle is bent instead of broken paddles, so I would inspect it real close. With it on the lift, pop the sender out of the retainer so you can get a good look at it. Again, do this ONLY on the lift as that 1.25" hole will let a lot of water in real fast.

I'd buy three a year to have my boat on a lift!

Was this a lift you use regularly or a lift at a rental house? I would never use a lift that wasn't set up specifically for my boat and rated to carry the weight. Too many things that could be wrong.

I have it on a hewitt 4600lbs lift. The rails are set to the same as my trailer. I've had it on there for 2 years and it hasn't been a problem. I'm confident i know when it happened. There was a bit of storm as i was bringing it into the lift. I talked to chpthril he gave me a heads up on where to get a new wheel.
