    Tige Ballast Tanks?

I am in the market for a the Tige Ballast tanks if anyone has them and is willing to part with them. My local dealer can set me up for about $450 so if anyone can hook me up with a better deal (new or used) I'd love to hear it. Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want the tanks?

I am planning on installing my own Ballast system this spring. For the past two years I have been playing around with added weight to the boat and have really liked the results.

The reason I want to use hard tanks instead of sacks is durability. I have unfortunately had some bad experiences with sacks and want to go with the tanks.

If you don't need the storage, then I guess tanks would be the way to go...

What type of sacs were they?

              how about this?

              http://www.plastic-mart.com/class.php?item=819

would this one fit? It's looks to be about 450lbs. The Tige's that I had were 250.

              from the site:
Tanks are blank tanks and may be rotated to fit your needs. We will place fittings anywhere on the tank according to your specifications.
We carry over 1400 sizes designed to suit all your needs................If the tank you need does not exist, we'll custom build it using the rotomolding process!!!!!!!!

Another thought, I used soft sacks in the back and just build a false floor over them. Gave mea lot more weight, and still made the rear safe for storage.

$450 is crazy for that little amount of weight.

Go with lead. I know that the bars are getting expensive, because the different places know boaters will pay it. However, I have 500# in my boat, and it takes up no space. You can hide them anywhere. I have two on each side of my boat, beside the back seat, in the space between the seat, and the gunwall. I can hide another three up front, under the seats, and still have room for the anchor, bumpers... etc. It costs a little more than soft sacs, the same as plastic, but is SO MUCH smaller.

The drawback is that once you leave your house, the weight is there. You cant "drain" it, and change the wake. Only move it. Also, if your vehicle is reaching it's tow limit, that's something else to think about.

Hey thanks for all the ideas. I have checked out a few websites and it looks like I can get some bigger tanks for cheaper than the tige ones.

My plan is to build a false floor over them, so they should be hidden pretty well.

Right now I am using 5 gallon buckets filled with concrete, which works great. But my wife is a beginer and wants a smaller wake...and moving the buckets sucks.

If anyone else has an idea or hook-up let me know. Again, thanks for all the input.
