Go for it. I would've started earlier if I had a boat. Now I let them do what they want but if they say no I stop, don't want them to blame me. I have had twins at six on the surfboard with me. I just make sure I hold on to the life jacket and hold them up when we fall. It is also good that they see there is nothing to be afraid off. A lot easier to get them used to the water when they are little.

I recall being very little 2 or younger being on my dads shoulders while he water skied.

I think it's the parents call at what age to introduce your child to Watersports. Each child is different and some will surf with. an adult as soon as they are comfortable in the water. Mine rode with child vests on torpedoes and tubes( well before wake surfing) when they were 2 1/2 but in isolated coves where there wa no other boat traffic. If our kid wanted to try and could keep head above water and dog paddle. we would let them try. Like I said one started at 2 1/2 and other kid was over 3. Both of them where skiing by time they were six.

They developed a love for the water early and now in their 30's they are taking kids out every chance they get. It is great to see

My kids surf with me, youngest was 2 last year when he started - see pic. He loves it more than my older kids and is not scared one bit. So with him, we let him go whenever he wants to. With a good life jacket and safe area, I see no problem at all.

                  Bummed

A little disappointed - when I saw the title of this thread I thought we'd be having a discussion about future ex-wives!

the commentary is good to see. Jake went for 1st boat ride at 3 mos and never stopped. does the website need a "kids" forum somewhere?

Parks Bonifay started waterskiing by himself at 6 months, 28 days!

I would suggest you started too late.

We watched his documentary this week while we were down at Lake Powell. It's a must see.
