    How young is too young??

Had my 2 yo in between my legs surfing, obviously with a toddler vest on and help her up when we slowly quit. We were going 10mph just to have her get up with me, ended up getting some crap about her being too young. Thoughts??

There is a video of a 3 yr old wakeboarding that was posted on WW last week. I think 2 is fine for surfing. Hell Parks Bonifay is in the Guinness Book of World Records for water skiing when he was 6 months old. People are going to hate on you no matter what you do if it isn't what "they" would do.

IF she has a smile on her face she isn't too young.

I had my kid behind the boat by herself on an EZski at 1yr-1mo-18days.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I agree. If the child is comfortable with being out there, being safe and having fun, so be it. You being the parent is the one who makes the ultimate decision on your childs safety. If its not illegal or harming your child the people giving you slack should direct their concerns elsewhere. I would make sure she has good control while in the water with a life jacket on and to not panick if she gets dumped.

Had my little girl out between my legs on the wakeboard at 13 months & at 2 years old I had her out on the wakeboard. I dragged her all around the house for the past year getting her used to holding the handle & being towed.

We also started her out on the EZ Skivtrainer to get her used to being out there behind the boat.

I agree with everyone else. If your 2 year old is stable in the water with the life jacket then it is great to get them out young. I started my now almost 5 year old at 2 and I have a current 2 year old (almost 3) that started surfing with me this summer and has been doing the ez ski trainer as well, she has a blast. My test is that if mama is okay with it then we are good to go!!

Beginning of this season, our little boy was five months. Always wears his infant jacket and loves to sit on the swim step and splash in the water (held by one of us).

Next season at 18 months, I plan to put him on an EZSki trainer and also tandem surf with him (presuming he loves it, like Joeprunc says, with a smile on the face).

We had him on a 32 Crownline for Brostock at Lake of the Ozarks. Several people in nearby boats made a point to say they thought it was great to have him out, that they had their kids out when young, and not to listen to people having negative comments or opinions.

So congrats on getting your daughter out there

Perfect! I thought so, and she was a little scared at first, then she waved at the camera and then I got her a little wet on the lip and she got scared again. I thought it went well!

                  Thanks everyone!

Totally agree, if they are happy and safe then why not, younger the better! Water babies always smile

I have a picture of my then 14/16 month old son on a ski trainer with a life jacket and a diaper on. I wish I could find it!!
As long as they are happy it is never too young to start getting them familiar with the water. I have a picture of my now 5 yr old on my shoulders surfing. He did not want to stop becuase he is comfortable on the water.
For those who say it is too early they should go back in their bubbles and let their lifes control the way they live. While we live our lifes to the fullest.

I almost had my nephew out on the boat with me last weekend, his mom pulled the plug at the last minute because it was so hot, but she said he'll be out before the end of the summer. He is 2 1/2 months.

I second this start them as young as you can.. They will thank you later.. Whos gives a $hit what people think.. People should be worrying about there own well being insteed of trying to police others.. This is why our country has fallen to a bunch of Pu$$ys and cry babies.. Cant even smack a kid around with out having to worry about someone telling on you.. I will never forget the one beating my grandma gave me and I can assure you I never messed up again around my grandma.. Even to this day no one breaks her rules lol..

START em before they pop out with momma

People giving parenting tips should probably spend more time disciplining their own snotty little brats! That's why I'm so happy to be an uncle, I get turn the kid into a total PITA, then hand him back to mom and dad .
