    Need Urgent Advice About Speedometer

Had 25 hr service done and asked for the boat to be water tested prior to pickup today. Launched boat and 5 min later no speedo and engine light comes on with anything more than throttle. Limped back to lift and get under boat and there is a huge vine wrapped around the prop and one of the paddles was broken off the speedo wheel and wedged. Got the vine off and unwedged the speedo wheel. Boat runs fine now but the speedo is off by at least 2/3rds; it registers 10mph when I'm at least 30 mph. I have 12 people at the lake who all drove 6 hrs for a long weekend.

    1. How easy is it to get and change a speedo wheel.
    2. How do I tell if there was any damage to the boat from the vine. engine never overheated but I wonder about the tranny. Everything seems fine now except the speedo which is a must for surfing.

I plan on going to nearest PCM service guy ASAP in morning but just looking for any reassurance this may be an easy fix so I can salvage the weekend (closest Tige service is 1:45 min drive away).

The paddle wheel is easy to change, takes about 20 minutes. Down side is, Tige doesnt offer the paddle wheel kit and wants to sell the $400 tri-ducer. If your dealer is smart, they stock the paddle wheel kit bought elsewhere.

If the boat drives and feels fine, then I doubt the vine hurt anything. If you cant get a wheel kit, then just drive by touch.

The paddle wheel is obviously garbage.

      1. Can anyone tell me what my options are for a GPS unit that is an easy plug and play for Tige Touch? The NL4-sr?
      2. What speedo unit is on the 2012 RZ2?
      3. Does Malibu have the same paddle wheel as that is the closest dealer to me?
