2006 Extreme Trailer with 2006 22Ve load. Torsion bar suspension. Last year the front busted. Just busted the rear on last trip. THis time my trailer guy welded it in place while I wait for the replacement to come in. How long do you think this weld will hold? Couple more 200 mile round trips?

Im going out on limb and going to say those axles are contracted out through another company. I had the same issue with another trailer manufacturer. The weld you have is between the torsion arm and the end cap. I dont think that end cap has enough structural integrity to hold for long trips or even a few small ones. That bolt you see holding the cap on is simply a small lag bolt, there is one on each side of the cap. It may hold but I was shocked when i took mine apart to only realize that it is just an end plate to cover the end of the axle, its cosmetic. IMO, If your willing to take the risk and dont want to lose water time, I would spot weld around the cap to the axle. I was going to do the same thing when mine failed but didnt want to take the risk of pushing my luck and having more issues.

I agree... with the post of the axel being 3rd party and failing. does not have much do do with the trailer mfg as far as the axel goes. Now if they dont replace it for free ext.. then for sure have at the mfg. my last boat. 07 moomba with boatmate trailer same thing happened. But boatmate 3.5 years later paid for new axel, tire, and fender upon failing. To me that is worth something. At the time they told me of about 10k of axels a year put on they see about 25 or so a year fail.2011 Tigé RZ4

Yeah - UFP axel. It was explained to me last year when the first axel broke there is a 5 year warranty. I was at the 5 year, 2 month mark. Of course I am at the 6 year two month mark now with the second. Cost me 800 parts + 300 labor last year. Will see this year.
The axel with weld made the 200 mile trip back thru a mountain pass. Think I will have it inspected though. Plan on going back next week. Part is on order, took a month last time, so I don't have hope of a speedy repair.
