What would you pay for this boat?

Thanks in advance for the replies. Looking at buying my first inboard boat for the family. We have 2 small kids (5,3) that love the water. This boat will mainly be a pleasure boat, pulling tubes, but I would like to try wakeboarding for sure. Here is the ad, what would be a fair price to pay? Right now we are at $11,500 and I think I can get to at least 10,500. He said it runs great, a couple small tears in vinyl and it has 750 hours.

    1998 Tige pre 2100 wt
Has wakeboard tower, 4 brand new 6,1/2 in kicker tower speakers. cd player with mp3 hookup
    alpine amp
fuel injected mercury 350 ski mag motor with average hours. runs excellent. new water pump this year.
direct drive, no lower unit to mess with.
    teak swim platform
this boat is pretty clean and super powerful. will pull up 2 or more skiers or wake-boarders no problem.
boat rides on a painted steel trailer with swing away tongue.

Welcome to the site! $11,500 seems like a good deal to me! I was thinking $15k range.

Thank you for the replies. Would this be a good first family boat for the things we want to do? What are these motors good for hour wise? Thanks!

The motors will run for thousands of hours if they are taken care of. That boat is 14 years old so it has had roughly 53 hours a year put on it. Our 2012 that we grin My has 42 hours on it. So it wasn't used heavily or anything.

11.5K is a great deal for an open bow. I would think it could go for 13K easily. My neighbor put over 2000 hours on his 350 mag. I just ticked 700 and mine runs like a top. Keep an eye on the tower welds, as that model tower has been known for cracking. The bow and freeboard sit low to the water so the driver needs to know how to handle larger wakes or you will get wet. Check to see if the TAPs plate works.

Should be a great first boat.

Thanks guys I'll keep an eye out for those things. What model tower is that? I have to say the way those speakers are on top of the tower doesn't look right to me. I hope I can flip them down with no problem.

I would flip them when you install them back on the new tower.

                    Same.

From what I have seen DD are harder to sell, thus seem to be cheaper, than V drives right now. For the price it would be a great starter boat. You may want to look at V drives as well.

I am assuming that you have taken it out for a test drive? If there are major issues you can drop some coin rather quickly.

                      X 2

I started with a closed bow direct drive for my first boat, it was myself my wife and 3 kids wich was ok but got really crowded if one or two friends came. I also second skippabcool on the check out v-drives. but if this is what you want it'll be good im sure. Mine was croweded because it was closed bow. welcome to the site.

Is this tower known to be junk? What kind is it?

I cant remember the name of the tower but I do believe that it may be metcraft??? But people told me to steer clear of them when I was looking for a boat so I figured I would just replace it if the boat I liked had it.

Not sure where you are, but I would be interested if it's been in salt water or not. If not, I think you are at a decent price.

Yes! They are known to crack at the welds that are hidden by the rollbar foam. Plus the bimini is a pain and the board racks are not so friendly.

Plain on replacing it. Inspect it real close of replacing ASAP is not possible.
