    Reinforce the bow cushion?

Anyone here had to reinforce the bottom of their boaw cushion? My 6 year old managed to catapuly herself from the top of the walkway into the bow and landed on the cushion snapping the flimsy plastic backer board right down the center length wise... It still serves the purpose if people are just laying in the bow with their legs up, but as you can imagine everyone who tries to put a knee down to climb in there falls through to the floor. The top of the cushion is in perfect shape so I'm trying to avoid having to dismantle the entire thing but I'd like to reinforce the bottom so it will support at least a little weight but I don't want to make the cushion sit up to high at the same time...
    Anyone been there yet?

    Thanks for your ideas!

Yep Randy, I did that for last summer. I took it to Paul's and he put in 3/4" plywood and shortened it by 4" so that I could have access to the cupholders too. I think it was $80 or $100 for everything. I'm guessing it would be less if you just want some new board in it.

That's a great idea to shorten it to keep the cupholders in play! I may follow your lead on that one! That plastic board has to be about the worst feature I have yet to find in the boat... Everything else seems really well thought out. God forbid it's a HOT day and that board turns to mush!
      Thanks for the tip!

Here's a couple of crappy cell phone pics that I found of it after. If I remember right, he had to take material off where the gray is. I have it slid forward in the pic so you could see how much was taken off and if you put it all of the forward, it doesn't line up (which I am fine with).

We did this on our RZ2 and it has been a GREAT mod.
