    2004 24V Limited help

I have a 2004 24V Limited V-Drive boat and ran into problems tonight. I need some suggestions as to what you guys think this is. Boat double beeped at me all night and as the night went on it would cut out everytime I would go from ski speed to idle. To me the tell tell sign is, after getting tired of it beeping at me and afraid it was about to strand me we headed in and I noticed that the RPM would fluctuate. Normally at 30 MPH I am at 3200 RPM but tonight it was at 4000 RPM and the RPM would be 4000 then fluctuate to 3300-3400 then it would go back up to 4000. If I was a betting man I believe the transmission is letting go?
It did not strand my family which goes a long way with me. I am just looking for some suggestions as to what you guys think this is?

Did you check the tranny fluid level?

Yes, fluid appeared to be ok. I cleaned the dip stick and once reinstalled and pulled back out it showed transmission fluid on all notches in dip stick.

double beep. You have a mercruiser engine then? The double beep is in indicator of a code stored in the ECM. You need to have the ECM scanned and see what code it is kicking. I doubt you have a trans problem. More than likely a sensor issue. Maybe bad fuel pump causing engine to run lean and throw a code. Bad fuel causing it to run bad can also cause it to throw a code. Knowing what code it has would help. Also knowing for sure wich engine you have would help.
