    Tower up or down?

I just hand polished the chit out of my Samson tower and it looks efin awesome now. Now I have to pull the boat 4 hours and I don't feel like cleaning bugs off it can I pull my boat with the Samson Razor tower collapsed or should I leave it up?

I would assume towing with it down wouldn't be an issue, as long as you can properly secure it. All the boats from the factory are shipped with the tower in the lowered position.

Wrap your tower with saran wrap or equivalent that you can buy bulk.

Works for me when ever I have to tow a long distance.

X2! We did this one year pulling our display tower to the boat show in an open utility trailer.

X3 on the Saran wrap. We do it before we tow to Powell.

one thing I had heard was spray a light coat of pam on and everything will wipe off super easy which wouldn't be as bad as scrubbing bugs. But the suran wrap sounds pretty easy as well I should try suran one way and pam the other. I just wasnt sure about the pam on the finish.

Not sure I would go the Pam route. I'd be too afraid of getting it on the rest of the boat. Plastic wrap is a pretty good idea.

One thing I always keep on my boat is baby wipes. They take just about anything off of anything and they do it gently and efficiently. They are amazing and cheap. They take bugs off of towers very well.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Just make sure it's not bouncing around on whatever it rests against. I know your boat is different, but on my direct drive it rests on the motor cover and the one time i drove with it down, it tore the vinyl up.

ouch gets pricey replacing motor covers. Mine doesnt rest on anything its just the way the sides fold into the boat im not sure if the structure is meant to support that. I think suran wrap and babywipes is the best way to go then I can leave the tower up

on my old boat i used a couple of jack stands with pads on them to prop up my tower when i stowed it down, just to clear the engine cover. seemed to work great with no issues of rubbing/chipping the powder coat-fwiw.

I had a strap come loose from my bimini on the way to Powell and it beat the %^$%# out of my tower. I don't know if the saran wrap would have saved it. But I make sure everything is secure now.

the tower just sits funny when its collapsed thats part of the reason far asking as well it doesnt look sturdy for 5 minutes pre post trip to put the plastic wrap on id do that and now hearing that a dealer has said that it has to count for something right?

One of our epic tows was from Vancouver BC to Lake Powell and back.

We always tow with the tower up. Bimini down. Saran wrap everything.

Unlike some others we also tow with our cover on.

Don't forget to pack the saran wrap with you so you can use it on the way back.

Amazing thing about the saran wrap is that it seems to be unaffected by heat of Utah in late July.
