Does anyone have a creative solution for mounting spare tires to trailers? I can't stand the look of those cheap bolt-on brackets on the tongue. I'd like to mount it underneath in the back of the trailer but can't figure out an easy way to do it. There's also pretty low clearance back there too. We throw it in the boat for now, but that's an irritation to deal with. Any great ideas? I have a 2003 22v with a tandem trailer from VM Custom Boat Trailers in California.

It shouldnt be too hard to weld another few supports to your trailer, and then touch up the paint. I am certain that any fabrication/weld shop could do that for you. Otherwise you can weld a mount to the trailer instead of using the cheap bolt on mount. That would look better and work better....hope this helps.

Here are some pictures from my trailer. My tongue weight is already a bit heavy, so I'd prefer to mount in the back rather than the front, but I'm open to any good ideas. I just don't like the ugly and prominent mounting brackets that go on the front tongue. Let me know if you have any great ideas for mounting. Thanks!

I still can't get this picture thing to work in the message. The gallery was a piece of cake though. Here are the pictures on this link to the gallery
Please offer any creative advice on spare tire mounting. I'd prefer the back due to heavy tongue weight, but I'm open to anything.
Thanks!

OK...I finally got my spare tire project done. Here are a few pictures from my gallery showing the project and the completed result. I'm still waiting for the tire cover that will match the trailer to arrive, but I'm happy with the results.
