    buh bye Tige

So on my way to the lake this weekend in the middle of massive holiday traffic, some idiot girl decided to park in the left lane to change a flat, instead of pulling over to the shoulder. All because she "didn't want to risk damaging her rim by driving to the shoulder" (it was a damn factory btw). This caused a 4 car pile up and my boat was a victim of it. Instead of plowing into her and killing her and her passengers standing beside her car, and possibly us, I forced the car next to me off the road so I could get over. But there wasn't enough room and the back of the boat clipped the car behind us and the boat fish tailed before winding up on the cable barrier, snapping the nylon tie downs and coming off the trailer . Was a scary incident, but luckily no one was injured. The boat is toast.

The worst part is the girl was 15 1/2, with a permit, but no one 18 was in the vehicle. I'm sad. But I was in the market for a new boat anyways, so this kind of forces me onto it. I guess I'm leaving the tow boat market and getting into the go fast boats. So I guess this is bye all ....not that I've been real active here lately. I'll try and stop in from time to time anyways.

Sorry to hear, but glad that everyone was ok. Good luck with your go fast.

Do you have any pics what the boat looked like?

Wow. Lucky everyone is okay. However, it is so frustrating when you have to deal with the consequences of someone else's stupidity. Please come back and post a pic of the go fast boat when you get it.

No, I'm going to a go fast. The timing is very weird, as during winter I flew to Vegas to buy this boat below. The owner had been dealing w/ some guy for a month to purchase it and he was tired of screwing with him. I flew out and we agreed on a sale. I got off the plane and called to gather some final info. The owner told me he sold it out from underneath me to the original guy he had been messing with. We had both pretty much determined the buyer really couldn't afford the boat, thus the delay.

That same boat popped back up for sale just last week.

Sucks for your loss. Glad to hear everyone is okay. Sometimes depending on your insurance boats are worth more dead than alive if it is cash value insurance. Hopefully everything will work out. Go fast boats are cool too! I am sure you can barter some rides out for a little surf time on a buddies boat!

Sounds like you had your hands full at the wheel. I'm glad everyone made it out safely.
                      Enjoy the new boat!

I hope the insurance company treats you right. That sucks to lose a boat in the middle of summer. If it were to happen, better in the fall or winter! I am glad all is safe and good luck on the "fast" boat.

When you get your speed boat, you can do stuff like this:

btw, you don't have the leave the forum just because you no longer own a Tige, you are always welcome.
