I went by the dealer today to talk more about the set up and actually showed them this thread. They owner of the dealer talked to Gary at PP (owner I believe) and he said they have a solution and parts on the way. I'm doubting it...holding off to do another river test once they've "fixed it." sure appreciate all the expertise from you guys. I'd be soooo pissed to buy this boat and not have cruise control as that's a non starter, especially for my wife .

Here are pictures. I was wrong about stargazer...it's actually wakeboard pro and appears to be in a non factory mounted location based on what i've read here. It's TBW set up.

Show me if there is a physical cable running from the throttle to the engine compartment moving the lever on a potentiometer that is in turn connected to the computer located on the firewall via a harness.

      This may be the case?

Im 99% sure that that charcoal MP 340 is a DBW. Thats likely why the PP does not work properly.

So I went back and read the PP guys post:

Marine Power uses a MEPHI-4 ECM. This is the same ECM that is used on most MasterCraft boats from 2005. Perfectpass is compatible with the MEPHI-4 ECM and have no problems controlling a 2005 MasterCraft boats.

The Marine Power engines, for some odd reason, do not work well with cruise control system. These odd problems were never solved by Marine Power. As a result, Perfectpass decided that supporting these engine was not worth it due to performance issues."

He says it could work because it uses a similar computer to MC, But confirmed what everyone else is saying. PP does not support these engines due to performance issues. So I misread....the guy never said it worked!!! Matter of fact said they don't support it because it doesn't.

I think it's important to note that PP just sends information to the ECM. The ECM processes that info and sends output signals to the engine. PP could care less about the engine, so it's not fair to say PP doesn't support the engine. PP has nothing to do with the engine.

Here is what I'm gathering. PP works on the 2005 Mastercraft with the MEFI-4 ECM on the Indmar engines. (I looked and couldn't find a MP engine in a 2005 MC.) So my conclusion is that Indmar did something to the tune on the MEFI4 that MP did not do to allow PP to work. The good news is that MEFI4 is completely tunable in the aftermarket right now. If I was really worried about it, I'd get ahold of these guys and find out if they can tweak the CC settings (probably just something in the CAN BUS) so the two will talk to each other.

Why the heck did the perfect pass guy come on here to tell us it won't work? We already knew that. I misread what he said, because I assumed he would come with some solution.
                Be excellent to one another.

I dont think indmar did any thing special, I think its the Tige/MP MEFI-4. I think the answer is hiding in plain sight, its so easy. The 06 was the first year that Tige offered its own in-house speed control. Safe to say, whether intentional or accidental, that PP and Accu-Set do not use the same communication protocol even though both the 05 MC and 06 tige both ran the MEFI-4 ecm.

Given the small number of units and having to compete against OEM equipped boats, I dont blame PP for not working on a solution. It would have cost way more or they would have had to eat the extra R&D for a one-off 06 tige specific unit. Now, once we started to see touch pad failures and the part obsolete from Tige, that might have been the time for PP to make the leap.
