Here is a shot of the Phat Budde tower from the LA boat show. I "borrowed" it off of another wakeboard site (The photographer is an excellent wakeboard enthusiast). The Phat Budde tower on my 22V is solid, and knocks down in mere seconds, I would truly recommend them.

Does anyone have a photo of that tower folded down? Where does it hinge to fold?

That Sampson on the Ve looks terrific!!! I would definitely go with that. It is very easy to fold down and would be exactly what you need.

Now go out and order that Tige!!!!!

note the difference in the mounting spread between the 22V and the 24Ve above. It is a big difference.

We have that very Phatte Budde tower...although not in that particular lovely shade of orange???

At any rate, the tower folds down from where the two colored tubes meet in the front and releases from where the billet piece hits the tube above the Tige logo. If you need to take down the billet piece as well, it's two handles on each side to unscrew as well... Pretty simple...

The differences in distances between the front and back legs of the tower on the Ve vs. the V models is mainly due to the different windshield used. The Ve windshield has a more raked angle and comes back further on the boat. I think it has a little more style.

I also noticed on the VE that since you get out of the boat on the walkthru on the storage hatch, they eliminated the step just behind the drivers seat (that's on the V), and allowing the windshield to come further back.

My guess is it reduces exposure to the elements.

Which came first, the windshield or the Transom walk-thru?

I'm with Condor 86 on the razor tower by Samson it is stout, looks great and a snap for one person to lower or raise, plus it comes with swivel board racks. My wife and I ordered an 06 22V from stayton motorsports in oregon and they only put Samson towers on their Tige's. Ours comes with the razor tower plus two tubby speakers from Samson that remove very easily for storage to keep them from getting stolen. If you want to get a look at the razor tower go to Staytonmotorsports.com and by the way the razor will fit on the 22VE, Stayton has two for sale with the razor tower.
