    Lake scum

I just pulled my RZ2 out of a lake after 3 weeks, the bottom has a nasty brownish tan haze that won't budge when I try to get it off...

How do you guys get that off your boats?

Read this thread, you'll need to use a hull cleaner, wiped own sprays won't cut it.

The title made me think this thread was about jetskiers, rude people at boat ramps....

Pressure wash it as soon as its pulled. If allowed to dry, its a biatch!

I've always put a coat of polish with PTEF on the hull in the beginning of the season to help prevent this.

My first though was jetskiers. I conjured up my best Emperor Palpatine voice and said out loud, "Lake scum."

                      You can also try FSR:

I have used this before and it works great, but yes you must wax it afterwards.

X2. It will also remove your skin, so beware. And rinse well.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

Woolite Carpet Cleaner and a Magic Eraser works great with little elbow greese.

                            I second this.

This is the bomb, you can spray this on and rinse, scum will be gone.

We boat mostly in the intra-coastal waterway which is dark brown brackish water and I battle tea staining all of the time. I keep the Mary Kates on hand and spray wipe and rinse as needed. This stuff is very strong, so protection is needed, don't inhale it.

I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!
