How normal is it for the factory front ballast to leak? I know that aftermarket sacs are notorious for leaking. Anything that I put in my port compartments are soaked after putting the boat in the water. I do not store anything In the starbord compartment but carpet also stays very wet.

Make sure the fittings are tight. I also expect a little seepage so I put this stuff down in those storage compartments so my stuff stays off the floor and dry.

Funny thing is....your stock sacs are the same ones you buy in the aftermarket Made by Fly High. Now, the rear surf sacs use the same fittings as we do during a ballast install. These fittings are a quick-release male and female fitting setup, and require an oring to seal at the threaded sac port. I do not now for sure what style of fittings are used on the front sacs. So, it may not be the sac its self, but a fittings or hose clamp, or broken drain pump.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Things will also get wet if you take water over the bow. Happens to me when I let friends drive as I ride and they always dunk the bow the first time they turn around to pick me up.
Duncan, I found that stuff at my local West Marine and it works great. I keep life jackets forward of the helm and anchor line and towels on the passenger side and they all stay dry now that I have that stuff on the floor.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I try to explain the stop and let the water settle down before turning.I think the fitting might be loose that sounds like a good place to start taking waves over the bow can be ugly

Funny, I put life jackets (all Costco neo ski vests) on passenger side near amps with towels on other side of divider close to observer seat; the anchor and line are forward of the helm. Of course, I have little space left forward of the helm after putting 400# sb and port sacks in the bow in place of the U sack.
