I have speakers but have no plans for lights.
I'd like lights but they are not legal in my parts.

I don't know where you are from, but in CA. They are useless. It is only legal to tow someone till 30 min after sundown. After that it's a fine. Also having lights that are not either anchor lights (New boats have a light on the top of the tower, usually it's that pole you stick in the back) or running lights (red and green lights up front), is illegal. It's a navigation thing. I spent 6 years in the Navy doing Navigation stuff. On lakes, I don't know, but in Navigatable waters, the CG really doesn't like to be scoffed at. So, I saved my money.

Where you a QM?
What ship?
Me and my brother where on LHA-1 Tarawa , He was a QM for 15 years and I was an ADJ.
As far as tower lights, they cannot be used in either CA or AZ accepted for loading the boat on the trailer.
Also if you have ever been in a boat with tower lights facing forward, you will notice that they make it harder to see (they reflect off of the bow and blind you to the rest of the water)

It's the same as off-road lights on the rollbar of your truck (ok, if you go back in time 10 yrs). Sure you can buy them anywhere, but if you use them on the road, you get a ticket. You can use tower lights in the marina, or while mooring in some secluded cove. But you cannot use them while driving in "normal" water. The vendors will gladly sell them to you, and take your money, but ..... useless. They do look cool though!

My experience has been the same as Whitlock's. Tower lights look cool, but are useless from a navigational perspective at night.
I would like to know if anyone has installed aftermarket headlights on the front of the boat - like on this Tige:Be excellent to one another.

Lee has special privileges apparently. He uploaded that picture before and when I tried to upload it, it told me it was too big. I had to resize it. I guess there are benefits to being the 'know it all Tige dealer'Be excellent to one another.

I made a set of headlights for my boat that work great.
I used two glass clamps and some plastic to make a bar.
I then mounted two driving lights that I got at Wal-Mart.
It mounts onto the noise of the boat about 6 inches from the tip. (No glare)
I use it when I am coming into the marina at night, to light up the shore and nav markers.
During the day it stores in the noise of my boat (no holes and no marks)
I would add a pic, but my boat is currently at tige water sports for some modification that I wanted to do to it.
If anybody wants to see a pic, I can get one after I get the boat back.

I was thinking about one of these - http://overtons.com/cgi-bin/overtons...arge.cgi?71244
We don't cruise around at night, but occasionally lose track of time and end up loading as it gets dark. Quality might be questionable.Attached FilesNostalgia isn't what it used to be
