Agreed but I doubt we'll ever see gas prices drop down to where they should be. The public has accepted it where it is. In Houston just yesterday I saw regular 87 octane anywhere from $3.59 to $2.99.

So we tap into our own supplies so OPEC lowers their production. Oil companies here in the USA can either sell us "our" oil cheap or they can ship it to China, India, etc... and get $30-50 more per barrel. Which option do you think they choose? End speculation and dismantle OPEC and gas prices will change. Simply increasing our production is not going to change the prices.
