Ballast and Surf Set up for R20 or RZR???

So I'm trying to dial in my surf set up.

I was out surfing last weekend, and couldn't get my wake dialed in how I would ike it. I have a new R20 and have the factory ballast set up, and added extra sacs.

I filled my stock port aft hard tank full (250lbs) and my extra W707 sac full (750lbs) then half of my bow sac full, port side (200lbs), I had 3 people on board, taps at 4 and was going about 11.3mph. I played with it all day, and this was the best riding, but I felt it was still lacking.

I could ride the wake, but the pocket felt short and if I got farther back like I've seen people in videos, I would loose a ton of thrust and couldn't pump enough to get back in. I just felt really close to the swim step, and I'd like to ride further back like I've seen in other's videos.

So how much weight is everyone running on their R20s or RZRs, what is your TAPS set at, and what's your Perfect Pass set too?

I'm thinking of getting another W707 to put on the port side under the side bench. Would that help?

I just can't find much info on the R20s or RZRs. I've been looking at everyones posts and videos on the RZ2s and Z3s, but TAPS at what they recommended and speed didn't ride well.

I have the 5.7L 343 engine and I'm riding a Ronix Koal Illuminati 4'5". I surf well, I have been ocean surfing and wake surfing for a while. I prefer the shorter board and works for my size and how I like to ride.

I would PM Allan Kendall if he doesn't reply or look him up on FB at Squids Wake. He has an R20 and seems to have it dialed in.

Fill the front sac then throw someone up front on the port side and see what that does to the wave. My RZR loved the front weight.

          patryk,
Thanks for looking me up on FB, Your close man!

Fill your port aft tank (250) + 500 lbs of you bag in the ski locker. Fill the entire bow horse shoe bag (400). Then fill you starboard tank (250). Speed at 10.4-10.8 taps at 2 for skim and taps at 1 for surf.

This will give you a foundation to start from..

dont mess with your system with friends and family in the boat. Go out alone with pen and paper and make notes and dial it in, then start adding peeps......then you'll find that the 750 is awesome filled with more wight up front...Like the kids... that where mine hang.
Let me know how this works for you.

Feel free to post some pic and video and PM me anytime..
