    PRE2000 Ballast

Hi just joined up, I'm from New Zealand and have a 98 PRE2000. Anyone out there got any PRE2000 series hull that they have ballasted up for wakeboarding? What have you added/where and what length of line do you use with your setup?

    Cheers Ian, Wellington NZ.

What up Ian? Welcome. Is your boat an open bow? Either way, you could pick up a couple of ski locker sacs and be real happy. Put one in the trunk and one in the bow. This will give you even weight front to back. In turn it will "sink" the entire boat, not just the back which is a common misconception. It sould give you good size and shape. I'm assuming it is a direct drive Tige. If so, you sould have a little wider table than most so you can run a little shorter line. That is going to be a personal preference though. There is no set rule.

Hey, wait a minute, I thought Kiwi's just ran river racers and jet sprints.

Thanks for the reply, the boats a closed deck, inboard I am looking to see what other people have done with their ballst on this particular model (just interested to know) as I noticed that there seem to be a few owners on this forum. I actually own a jet boat and have been involved in the jet sprint scene (nothing like 0-60mph in < 3sec) over the years. We just had the world series river marthon series here before Christmas where they travel up 8 different rivers in just under 2 weeks and usally travel up them at over 120mph (nuts aye). Anyways funny that you should mention rivers as we were wakeboarding on one this last weekend (about 2 hours away) but usally do it in a harbour. (10 minutes) During the holidays we can get away to a lake but takes around 4 hours to tow the boat to it.

See, I knew it. Kiwi's are jet boaters. That is awesome you ran sprints. I live right next to an area that would be perfect for a track. I drive by it every day and say to myself "some day". I am hoping to get a trip together this year to head up to Oregon to catch some river race action on the Snake. Talk about balls.

Most of the guys on this board with that model boat are primarily slalom guys. The set up I listed should work out real good. It's the same set up I use in my 22i and it works great for boarding and surfing. It sould be even more effective in your boat as it is a bit smaller.
