05 22v Engine loading up when surfing

Sorry i already posted this in a different section but didn't get much action.

My boat is an 05 22v with a 350 mag mpi. after surfing for a while it seems to load up and not like to start. In order to start you will have to pump throttle. This just doesn't seem right for a fuel injected motor? Any body else have similar problems or recomendations?

It probably is not loading up but having a problem with the idle air control valve (IAC). Pumping it doesn't put fuel in the system but it opens the throttle body to bypass the IAC. Next time it happens, easy diagnosis is this: if it doesn't start at neutral idle, open the throttle about 10% and hold it there while cranking, if the engine starts and then stalls when put back to neutral, your IAC is to blame and it's an easy fix. If the engine starts and then stays running when brought back to idle, it's another problem, possibly stuck injector(s), fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump itself. Keep us posted.

Thank you i will give this a try. I'm not an expert with fuel injected motors so this is helpful! I'll let you know.
