Can't wait to get her in the water.

Any advice about covers? Our boat will be moored all summer and the stock Tigé cover does not keep things dry. The dealer told me it's designed that way but I'm not convinced it'll do the job for us. Isn't it possible to have a cover with venting that keeps the boat dry as well?

If your cover is water tight it will keep water and moisture in the boat also.Most owners store their boats in a shed ,garage or a covered slip.

The only place water comes in the boat with the factory cover is around the tower. The factory cover is very loose around the tower, if you want it to keep water out all you need it's bungee's aroun the cover around the tower. That should keep almost all water out and the cover will still breath well like it designed to.

Your dealer is correct, no cover is going to be water proof. And most boat covers allow the inside to breath, to allow for your interior to dry out after a day on the water. If you don't let it breath you will have a mold/mildew fest the next time you pull the cover off. With rain the most important thing to keep water from leaking in is making sure water cannot pool in one spot. I installed one of these on my boat...the pole keeps the vent at the highest point, and makes sure if it rains, the water runs off the cover, and cannot pool. http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...ID=GSHOP_16308

Will it be on a buoy or a lift? Do you have electrical hookups? I keep mine on a lift too and have electrical. If the boat is really wet, I let it dry out the next day before covering it. Once dry I connect one of these inside the boat. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/produc...l#.T9IZubCJdQU

Then cover it.


Also if it is on a hoist and out of the water, I would recommend getting a cover that also covers the swim platform. If its on a buoy don't.

When we store ours outside in the summer we use stretch film around the tower and over the cover to make sure water doesn't get I side the boat there. Works good so far.
