    Truck Tire Thread

I know this is a good place for opinions, always good to hear others' experiences with purchases.

First off i drive a 2008 F-250 6.4 with a 3.5" lift. Do a lot of towing and a lot of off road driving, i know those two combinations make picking a new tire a PITA.

I have chosen MY top 4 tires but would like to hear opinions on these or other tires that you all have or know about.
    The top 4 are:
(In no order i havent chosen yet obviously)
    Toyo Open Country MT
    Nitto Trail Grappler
    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
    Cooper Discoverer STT
I have a 20"x9" wheel and am looking for something in the 35-36" diameter tire. Also have to have a high load carrying capacity.

My factory tire is Goodyear Wrangler AT/S LT275/65/20. Just looking for opinions

Toyo Open Season or Open Country MT? My vote is for the Open Country MT.

Mickey tompson ATZ FTW One of the smoothest tires ive even owned. Rode great, sick in the snow, great off road and great wear.

Extreme off-roaders will appreciate the great ride and handling that this mud tire has on the highway. The MTZ has Mickey Thompson's Power Ply™ sidewalls with a special angled third ply to give you high performance handling, better puncture resistance, and improved towing capability.
Advanced Radial Construction for High Mileage & Smooth Ride
Self Cleaning High-Void Tread Lugs for Traction in Mud & Snow
Deep Shoulder Lugs Provide Aggressive Traction and Bold Looks
Enhanced Sidebiters® for Added Traction & Protection

My second choice would be Nitto Trail Grappler MT's

The Nitto's seem to be softer than the Toyo's and wear faster even though they are the same tread pattern. That's just my experience, your mileage may vary.

Toyos are one of the fastest wearing tires I have ever owned. Minus Goodyear MTs. Clint owner of ATS has the Nitto trail grappler mts and has about 20k on them and there still around half tread.. Im impressed.. I personally dont like that agressive of tread! the Mickey tompson ATZ are as far as I personally would go! I Love my Nitto 420s ride like a caddy!

          Nitto 420's

I sold my 20" wheels with Toyo Open Country AT's on them with 50k+ miles and they still had tread, on the flip side, I had to replace my Nitto Terra Grapplers with only 28k miles on them. Like I said, your mileage may vary.

I have 37" toyo mud country tires and I love them, the wear is much slower than you would expect aswel. So I would recommend anything toyo

Best tire if had luck with on my F350 was BF mud terrain. 33-12.5x16.5 I pulled 10-14000#s with them all the time. Keep them rotated you can get 50-60K miles outa them.

I have always used BFG All-terrain KO. I do a lot of dirt roads and desert driving and they have worked great. Got about 60,000 miles out of them but I ventured off the beaten path on my most recent purchase. I have 40,000 miles on Hankook Dynapro ATM and they have an 80,000 mile warranty. I still do the same dirt roads and desert driving but they cost me $450.00 less.

Had no luck with the nittos. Too soft, short life. Have had good luck with the Toyo's though. About to replace the factory Michelins on my 06 F250 and will probably go with the Goodrich AT or Toyo Open Country.

Maybe Kumho tires? I just bought a set for my trailer and was impressed. I don't know about their other tires, but it might be worth looking at or asking your tire guy about?
