Hello everyone. Now that I have finally graduated, and not taking 20 units, I can concentrate on my boat again. I would like to replace the Clarion speakers that came in the boat. Last summer someone posted they had purchased some Polk Audio speakers. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the Pold Audio MMC650, and some other speakers of similar price. .... I would like the best "bang for the buck."

Thanks. I was thinking about putting the 6750 component in my truck, since it already has the cutouts. Is the extra work needed to install them in a boat worth it? I have good tower speakers, that will help eliviate distortion. .... I would like to just pop new speakers in the old holes. If you think that it's worth it though, I'll have to reconsider.
Thanks. Robb

My front set, wouldn't be that bad. Just drill a new hole. The rear set though, is mounted in the seat. The armrest flows into the floor, and the speakers are mounted facing forward. How difficult is it to cut holes in the upolstery? Do the tweeters have the mounting ability to "cinch" down and look professionally installed, like the larger speakers? I have cut holes in vehicles for speakers, but never in padding. Don't want to mess things up!

The tweeters have a cup that is put into the hole and then there is a clamp with a screw that goes into the back of the cup that goes against the backside to pull it tight.
The upolstery is a bit more work. You have to make sure the upolstery hole is smaller than the speaker hole so it goes under the speaker when mounted.
What boat do you have?I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....
