    Samson Alpha Z mirror

Well she arrived and is installed.

I personally love it. Will do a full write up on it. but here is the high level over view. Bit of work for one person. So have a friend or spouse around to help juggle your speaker\mirror arm. Also plan on Buying longer bolts. The ones that where stock on my wet sounds where longer then the bolts shipped. (I called scott at samson before I started to get the 411 and they knew they might be short, and he offered to send me some longer ones, I declined but great service none the less)

ended u puttng in 5/16 2.5 ss bolt in with washer and lockwasher was perfect length.

just be prepared you have to cut your wet sounds wiring to get the speaker mount down. so have some wire cutters around. just re-crimp when you put back together not a big deal.

pretty slick install.. I love it so far. But then again she has not left the garage. will detail it more once she has taken on rough water ext..

I debated the ptmedge setup.. but I did not want anything mounted on my window. logic tells me over time it will eventually leave some mark on the window frame \ glass ext.. but what I like is having up it higher and out of the way when the riser on the seat is down.

That is pretty nice. I bet you could get the PMT mirror to mount on that arm someway.

Love it - mine will be installed next week when my boat arrives. I had mine powder coated white to match the tower. Most of all I like how it is out of the way and not clipped to the windshield - not a fan of the windshield mirrors. To me they look like tits on a bull (e.g. Big old mirror on a sleek frame).

If some one has pics of the view in the mirror could you please post. Looks like the speakers will be in the way of seeing anybody outside the wake on drivers side. Need to get a mirror soon but would love to see the view from this set up before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

                    Nice!
I also would like to see the view you have with it on the starboard side.
What is the view with the bemini extended?
Also what do you do when the tower folds down to store in a typical garage?
                    Thanks

Also: For what do you use that monitor mounted to the ceiling? Bringing up PDF versions of service manuals when you're working on the boat?

Can it be mounted without speakers on the tower?

From what I understand Samson makes a cover that can be put on if you don't have a speaker there.

My dealer told me about it. They have different versions for different tower speakers. You can mount it with no tower speakers as well.
