    1995 Tige Bow Cover

Has anyone ever installed just a bow cover on an older Tige? I had mine in Lake George NY this past weekend and the lake was very rough and I had water come over the bow quite a bit. I was wondering if that would help out at all?

That's a great looking boat! Mine is the same year and color :-)I don't have a bow cover on mine but a friend of mine did on his old boat. His did a fair job keeping water out of the bow and it helped extend the riding season. It's nice to have something blocking the air flow. I would think any boat shop around you would know a good canvas guy that can make one. I personally never liked having a bunch of snaps on the boat but if it keeps you dry and safe go for it.

Do you get a lot of water over the bow? I would hate to have a bunch of snaps on mine but if it helps keep the water out I might have to do it. The boat is great on flat water but it tough when it's rough. The kids like to tube durring the day when there are a lot of boats out and it makes it tough to pick them up when they fall off in the rough water. Early mornings and early evening seems not to be as much of a problem.

I only get water over the bow if I am not paying attention. The lake we go on gets fairly rough during the day so it's a full time job to keep water out of the boat. Our boats sit really low to the water so it's hard to avoid it. If the lake is really bad I don't let anyone sit in the bow either. Do you dip the bow when you are moving or just when you are sitting? When I am going I try to anticipate the wakes and hit the gas to bring the bow up. That seems to work the best for me. What prop are you running?

I mostly got water over the bow when going through my own wake picking up someone who fell off a tube or wakeboard. I try to give it a little gas and go through the wake on a 45 degree angle but sometimes I just get blasted by another wake. I will also get water over when I am going slow in a no wake area when the water is choppy. I can keep the nose of the boat up if I stay around 20 mph and not going on plane. That makes it easy to move around the lake. I'm not sure which prop I have on the boat.

Slow down to a stop before turning around, this will allow the wake to dissipate, pick your rider up at an idle and you won't have to worry about ever crossing your wake. I've also found these boat can take huge wakes if you are more parallel to the incoming wake, we have 40+ ft yachts cruising down some of our fingers throwing massive wakes, this is how I've learned to deal with them.

                New Cover

I had a cover made. I have had the boat out about a dozen times and the cover works great. I havent had any water come in the bow. The only downfall are the snaps but it is worth it to have a usable boat.

I have a bow and back cover. I use my bow cover on Lake Powell all the time, when I am hauling our gear across the bay and don't want it to get wet in rough waters. It works great.

I have one on my boat. I love it. I really don't even notice the snaps anymore. Small price to pay. If it does get cold or windy, the kids love climbing up there and staying warm and dry. It also is great for keeping the wind out of the boat on those chilly mornings.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
